I’m Sleeping in THAT?!
This six-ton potato has traveled the country many times over and is now the world’s only Potato Hotel!
It’s called “The Big Idaho Potato Hotel” and is located in Boise complete with one bedroom, one bed, one bath, power outlets for your electronic devices, a mini fridge, old records to play, and a custom-built bed.
You’ll also notice a customized silo that has been turned into a spa retreat perfect for soaking while looking up at the stars.
For an extra dose of cuteness, The Big Idaho Potato Hotel comes with the cutest jersey cow in the world, who will be your fuzzy pet for the stay.
Here’s Dolly with the potato hotel in the background.
The price varies according to the time of year you book, but I inquired about a one-night stay in July, and it was $302. (I’ll stick with Holiday Inn Express.)
If that’s not creative enough for you, consider booking a reservation at the Ice Hotel in Sweden.
It’s rebuilt each year with snow and ice in the village of Jukkasjärvi and is the world's first ice hotel. After its initial opening in 1990, the
hotel undergoes reconstruction each year from December to April. A double room costs around $278, and suites can be rented for up to $3,000.
The Giraffe Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, will overnight you close to the giraffes.
Staying at the Giraffe Manor will set you back a little over $4,000— but it’s all-inclusive. Ha! For that much, they should brush your teeth and pamper you with Krispy Kreme donuts! There are other interesting hotels to reserve around the world:
• The Dog Bark Park Inn
is a hotel located along Highway 95 in Cottonwood, Idaho. The hotel is built in the shape of a beagle, making it a famous landmark in the state. It’s known as “Sweet Willy” by locals. But . . . is that local people or local dogs? Hmmm. Wondering if I should take Bentley there for a vacay.
• Underwater Hotel in Sentosa, Singapore
This will run you about $2,000 per night and is one of the least expensive underwater hotels. There are others located around the world that come in at $15,000 per night.
As creative, fascinating, and cool, these places are . . . I’m yearning for my eternal home. And the best parts?
It’s free!
It’s beyond our imaginations.
And it’s with our Savior forever!
“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived—the things God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV)
You are so very loved!
