Wanna mail something but don’t want to box and wrap it?
Good news! There are several things than CAN be mailed as is!
To test this, I once wrote a friend’s name and address on a Kleenex box, took it to
the Post Office, stamped it, and mailed it her way. She got it! And the timing was perfect—she was battling a cold.
While most food is required to be boxed up before being mailed, the U.S. Postal Service makes a specific exception for potatoes and coconuts. Both foods can be mailed unwrapped, as long as you write the destination and return address either directly on the product or on a label affixed to the skin or husk.
Simply take the item to the post office, where it’ll be weighed to determine appropriate postage, stamped, and sent off to be delivered just like any other package.
It’s interesting what people have mailed “as is.” People have mailed
• a ski
• a rose with a card tied to the stem
• a pinata
• rubber ball
• Frisbee
• flip-flops
• Bricks/rocks
• Glass bottles
• Inflated beach balls
• Hula Hoops
Go ahead. Try it this week!
Send something fun to a loved one without packaging it.
I’m grateful I don’t have to “package up” the prayers I send to Jesus.
He receives them any way I send:
• in desperation
• praise
• through tears
• while fighting the flu
• between sneezes during allergy season
• in the middle of laughing till my sides hurt
• when I wake up in the middle of the night
“Dear Jesus, thank You for not only always receiving my prayers just as they are, but for also understanding them just as they are—sometimes raw, other times delicate, but always from my heart.”
“In those days when you pray, I will listen.” (Jeremiah 29:12 LB)
You are loved!
