Peter was first known as Simon.
And Saul became Paul.

God is in the business of not only giving us new life—
He also gives us a new identity . . . identity in Him.

Check out this promise of new life:

“When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand-new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

And check out this promise of a new name:

“To him who overcomes… I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it.” (Revelation 2:17)
