Heaven

3-30-21
(Reminder: I’m doing an A to Z devotional blog.)

The Bible talks a lot about heaven. Here’s one of my favorite descriptions:

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what
God has prepared for those who love him.”
(1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT)

In other words, heaven is beyond imagination. Wow.

Heaven is also big. Really REALLY REALLY BIG!
“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?”
(John 14:2 NIV)

But heaven also has a really really really narrow gate.

“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14 NLT)

The best thing about heaven is that Jesus is there. And if we have a
genuine relationship with Him, we’ll be there, too.
Forever.
With Him.

Another H word in the Bible is Hell. In fact, during His time on earth
Jesus actually talked more about hell than heaven. I’m glad He did,
because we need to know about it.

Every time hell is mentioned in the Bible, it’s described as an actual place.
And it’s a place of darkness, extreme pain—and worst of all—eternal
separation from God.

Many people don’t believe in hell. But I choose to believe the Bible.
And I’m glad Jesus warned us about hell, so we can choose to follow
Him and live in heaven instead.

Hashbrowns aren’t mentioned in Scripture. But I think the
disciples would have loved them!
