The African impala can jump to a height of more than 10 feet
and cover a distance of greater than 30 feet. Yet these magnificent
animals can be kept in an enclosure in any zoo with a three-foot wall.
Impalas won’t not jump if they can’t see where their feet will fall.

So . . . fear keeps them confined.

At times we tend to be like the impala. Fear keeps us from
being and doing all that God desires.

Here’s what the Bible has to say about fear:

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and
of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7
NASB)

Fear can cripple people, crush dreams and annihilate self-
esteem.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be
afraid?” (Psalm 27:1 NIV)

If you’re experiencing fear, could it be that God really isn’t the
stronghold of your life?

God desires for you to experience His deep, settled peace.

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart!
And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives.
So don’t be troubled or afraid. (John 14:27 LB)

God years to deliver you from crippling fear.

“I sought the LORD and he answered me; he delivered me
from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:2 NIV)

“The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere
mortals do to me?” (Psalm 118:6 NIV)

By defeating death, Jesus wants to take away the invisible wall
of fear, to allow us to be the gazelles we are made to be, to leap high.

Why be like a caged impala confined by fear, when God can
enable you to leap?

Go ahead.

Commit your fear to Him.
