Does it look like Bentley Boy is praying in this photo?
Ha! He probably needs to pray. He has chewed a hole
in the armrest of my couch, chewed holes in two of my rugs,
torn up three dog beds, destroyed a pair of my shoes, destroyed
three dog leashes, chewed up checks, papers, two couch slipcovers. . .
I could go on but you don’t have time for that.

Even though I take him to the dog park each morning and let him run
wild for a solid hour, play ball with him in our backyard (and inside the
house), and walk him through the neighborhood, he still does things he’s
not supposed to.

It may sound weird, but I pray for Bentley Boy. I pray that he
becomes a calm dog like Amos (of course, Amos is 10 years old), and he
will learn quickly and develop a sweet personality.
I believe in the power of prayer.

I’m grateful there’s nothing too insignificant for me to pray about. If it
matters to me, God cares. And I’m thankful there’s nothing too big for me to
take to God. He is genuinely concerned about every detail in my life.
He even knows when I get up and walk around:

“You know when I sit or stand. When far away you know my
every thought.” (Psalm 139: 2 LB)

I hope this fact comforts you! God cares about every detail in your
life. He even knows the number of hairs on your head (Luke 12:7)!

Aren’t you glad God isn’t flippant?
We don’t serve a nonchalant Savior.
He’s engaged with us . . . involved in our comings and goings.
Find encouragement in the fact that He yearns for you to pray.
Oh, how He longs to hear you talk with Him. About what?
About everything. About absolutely everything. EVERYTHING.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.”
(Philippians 4:6 NLT)

Why should we do this? Because if we do, here’s what we get:

“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything
we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as
you live in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7 NLT)

I’m guessing you’ve been praying about a lot of things during the
pandemic we’re experiencing. Maybe your prayer life has even increased.
I hope it will continue to increase. I’m going to keep praying for God’s
provision in my life, for Bentley Boy and for you!

Wanna share an answer to prayer you’ve experienced lately? I’d love
to read it!

Will you continue to pray for me? I thought for sure my fall schedule
would remain intact. But I just received a cancelation for a district ministers
& mates retreat I was excited about speaking at in September.
