My two schnauzers Amos and Bentley love to eat. Amos is nine, and
Bentley Boy just turned one. It seems as though Bentley will eat anything.
He has eaten my shrubs, insects, my favorite pair of taco socks, three
brand-new green plants, my shoes, part of a blanket and a check.

So when I feed these two boys, I put Bentley Boy’s food in one dish
and Amos’ food in another dish in completely separate areas. Then I stand guard over Amos and his food until he finishes. If not, Bentley will not only scarf down his own food but devour Amos’ food before Amos even gets a chance to sniff it.

Yep, Bentley Boy is selfish.
He wants all he can get.

Let’s translate this to us.
There is one area in which it’s OK for us to be selfish.
I believe God wants us to be selfish spiritually.
I guess I better explain myself, huh?

Check out this verse from Joshua 18:3:

“So Joshua said to the Israelites: ‘How long will you wait before
you begin to take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of
your ancestors, has given you?’ ” (Joshua 18:3 NIV)

God had led the Israelites into the incredible Promised Land, but
several years after they arrived, seven tribes still hadn’t moved inside of
their portion of land.

So their leader, Joshua, asked them a powerful question: “Why not?
What’s holding you back? Why aren’t you taking all God wants to give
you?”

That’s a GREAT question.
And it’s relevant to us!

Have you taken ALL God wants to give you spiritually?
He wants to give you more spiritually than you can even imagine!
So it’s OK to be selfish and say to God, “Gimme, gimme, gimme! I
want all the peace, kindness, gentleness, goodness, discernment, wisdom,
growth . . . You want me to have!”

Don’t wait.
Let Him know you’re ready for all He wants to bestow.

“Now glory be to God, who by His mighty power at work within
us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even
dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or
hopes.” (Ephesians 3:20 LB)

Go ahead.
Move forward into all that God wants for you . . . TODAY!

I’d love to know your thoughts.

Though many parts of the country are opening up (restaurants, hair
salons, etc.) my speaking engagements are continuing to cancel
(revivals, summer camps, conferences, spiritual growth weekends,
etc.). I thought for sure I’d be back in full swing by June, but events in
June are now canceling as well.

I really really really appreciate your prayers!
