Maybe you’ve heard of David Livingstone. He was a missionary and
explorer in Africa for 16 years—and they were difficult years.

He was originally from Scotland, and when he returned home after
his missionary service, he spoke to students at Glasgow University.
They couldn’t help but notice his left arm hanging useless at his side
. . . the result of being mangled by a lion.

His body was emaciated by the 27 fevers he’d experienced on the mission field.

This is what he said to the students in front of him: “Shall I tell you what sustained me during the hardship and loneliness of my exile? It was Christ’s promise, ‘Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ ”

We can cling to that same promise. Though 2020 has just begin, you may already be facing something difficult.

Isn’t it comforting,
encouraging
and reassuring
to know beyond doubt
that you are NEVER alone?

Thank You, Jesus!

“ . . . and be sure of this—that I am with you always,

even to the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:20 Living Bible)

Thoughts?

Please pray for me this week as I speak in Oak Harbor, WA.

Correction: Last week I mistakenly gave the wrong dates for the
Susie Shellenberger Ministries Mexican Riviera cruise. The dates are
January 16-23, 2021. Even though this is a year away, rooms are
going fast. This is a new Carnival ship with all the bells and whistles.
I’d love for you to experience this spiritual retreat and fun adventure with me!

I’ll be speaking—along with my friend Gracia Burnham (former
missionary who was held captive in the Philippine jungle for more
than a year), and you’ll also be able to enjoy all the shows and fun
musical entertainment onboard.
