Elon

No, not Elon Musk, the business magnate of Tesla fame. The Elon we see in Scripture is found in Judges 12:11-12. Let’s take a look:

“The next judge was Elon from Zebulun. He judged Israel for ten years.” (Judges 12:11-12 LB)

Elon was a member of the tribe of Zebulun—one of the 12 tribes of Israel who later became the Jewish people. The tribe was named for the sixth son born of Jacob and his first wife, Leah. Jewish legends consider the tribe of Zebulun as one of the
Ten Lost Tribes of Israel.

We don’t have a lot to go on here, do we? This is all we know about Elon. Nothing more is written about him. The good part? He was a judge in Israel. The bad part? His tribe is considered a lost one.

Sounds like Elon was living with contradictions, doesn’t it? But even so, he did wonderful things with his life. We can all relate. Maybe you grew up in a dysfunctional family, but with God’s help you’re doing good things with your life; you’re glorifying Him in what you do and in who you are.

Never let the negatives outweigh the overwhelming positives of what God wants to do in and through you!

He dreams BIG for you. Need proof? Here it is:

“Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.”(Ephesians 3:20 LB)

God IN you and working THROUGH you will always counteract any negative contradictions in your life. Determine, like Elon, to wholeheartedly serve God in whatever capacity He places you.
