I should tell Amos (my 10-year-old Schnauzer), when playing Hide &
Seek with Bentley (my 1-year-old Schnauzer), it will work to his advantage
when hiding under the bed if he’ll actually hide his entire body under the
bed instead of peeking out to see if Bentley is anywhere near.

Amos doesn’t realize that hiding actually means total seclusion. I just
have to laugh—at both of them. Amos can’t figure out why Bentley finds
him so quickly. Every. Single. Time.

I’m so grateful I can’t get lost from my heavenly Father and His love.
The fact that He always knows exactly where I am 24/7 . . . 365 . . . gives
me tremendous comfort.

“For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his
love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels won’t, and all the powers
of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away.

“Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, or where we
are—high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean—nothing will ever
be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord
Jesus Christ when he died for us.” (Romans 8:38-39 Living Bible)

There IS an appropriate form of Hide and Seek with God; it’s always
right for us to keep seeking Him more and more. And I’m happy that
God isn’t very good at this game . . . He doesn’t hide from us! He even
helps us find Him. What a wonderful God!

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. . . .”
(Matthew 6:33 ESV)

Isn’t it great that when we DO seek Him, we can ALWAYS find Him?
We don’t have to search very long. He’s right here.

“And when you draw close to God, God will draw close to you.”
(James 4:8 LB)

God absolutely LOVES it when we seek Him. He blesses our
seeking.

“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who
seeks him.” (Lamentations 3:25 NIV)

Back to Amos and Bentley.
I don’t think I’ll teach Amos how to hide properly.
They’re both just so happy playing the game.

Thoughts?

I’d love to hear about YOUR relationship with God! Shoot me an
email and let me know what you’re specifically doing to seek Him with all
your heart.

Love,
Susie
