Language

About 5,000 years ago, people began speaking to each other. Historians tell us that ancient civilizations began developing complex language systems as early as 3200 BC.

Today there are more than 7,100 different languages around the world. Here are three of the oldest languages:

• Sumerian (began around modern-day Irag)
• Egyptian (based on hieroglyphs)
• Tamil (throughout India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka)

Isn’t it amazing that among the more-than-7,000 languages currently being spoken, God understands every single one?

I’m grateful we don’t have to learn a specific language to talk to our Savior.
He even understands us when we don’t have words at all! Here’s the proof:

“We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” (Romans 8:26-27 NIV)

You are so loved!
